I Believe An Introduction Is In Order

‘Walking In My Own Shadows’ is a writing project I’ve considered for some time that involves sharing a chapbook length series of poems prior to publishing the content in ebook format. The idea is to get my work known and build an audience via this blog.

After much deliberation and going back-and-forth in my mind about such matters (mostly having self-doubt that it would work as a form of promotion) I’ve decided “what the heck” got to try something.

All the poems in this eight-part series are fixated on one central theme: contemplation of the shadowed self. For those of you who don’t know what the “shadowed self” is, I strongly recommend reading Sarah Regan’s article, Shadow Self 101: What It Is & How To Embrace It, According To Experts, for more details.

For now, I’ll be delivering eight new poems to you every Thursday (per usual) with their accompanied audio readings performed by myself. At the end of the eight-part series I’ll be hosting a live talk over Zoom as an exclusive event for my subscribed members of the blog.

In the live talk we will discuss Walking In My Own Shadows, I will do a live reading of the entire collection, and we’ll have an open round of Q&A toward the end. Dates and times for this event are to be announced in an upcoming post.

If you haven’t subscribed yet, please consider doing so to gain access to this exclusive invite. It is absolutely FREE to become a subscriber of my blog, and I don’t bombard you with spam like other people may do.

The cherry-on-top: all participants who stay till the end of the event will be given a donate option to receive a full digital download of Walking In My Own Shadows! It will be an open donation, so only spare what you deem is appropriate.

Transactions will be done through PayPal.

In the meantime, here’s the self-titled first poem in this eight-part series…
